Meal Planning 101

I recently came across some meal planning articles on Mary Grace's blog...Books and Bairns. She has inspired me to take my scheduling of meals to the next level. I am so pleased!

I would encourage you to take a look at this article on her blog and see if it might be something you will want to do too. This is the last of three articles in this series and Mary Grace kindly links to the others to streamline things. If you do venture over, you will be led through the entire process painlessly...or as near to painless as one can get in this pursuit! Happy planning! :)

I love planning meals! I don't find it a burden like some people do. It is easy now that Josiah is giving me ideas. I have a system that works great for me. I do it weekly and on a dry erase board. Great topic! Meal planning is so essential.

BTW, I tried the Nearly Flourless Chocolate Cake recipe and it was a hit with my family! I made it with sucanat and whole wheat pastry flour and it turned out great. I'll probably be posting my healthier version on my blog soon if that is OK with you.

Jackie ~ I always used to plan meals...but one week at a time. I really like this system as it incorporates "new" things and reduces the need for weekly searching. My current "plan" has six weeks of main meals on it!

I appreciate you asking about sharing the recipe...thanks! :) Go ahead and post your version...I enjoy reading what you come up with.

Blessings,
Camille

That's so crazy that you posted on this!!! I've been saving my meal plans for the last seven weeks. I'm planning to make out a monthly schedule to try to use every ingredient to the fullest...you know, roast a chicken, then make stock from the left overs for maybe chicken pot pie, etc. I'm so glad you shared! I am hoping it will be a big blessing, especially next fall when we begin homeschooling! :)

Thanks for posting this Camille. I really need to get on a schedule for meal planning. It is just Michael and I but I know it would make life easier being planned. Thanks for sharing Mary grace's link :)

Have a beautiful day!

Sharon ~ I always liked having a meal plan when it was just Howie and I...it definitely streamlines things in the shopping! "They" say you spend less with a specific list...I believe it! :)

Camille
