Chocolate Chip Cookies ~ Oh Dear!

I can only make a half batch of these ~
they are that D.A.N.G.E.R.O.U.S.!!

I would advise you do the same unless you have
M.A.N.Y. people to share with...
they are too yummy!!

Chocolate Chip Cookies ~
Adapted from "Chocolate and Baking"

1 cup Butter at room temperature
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup Sucanat (or Brown Sugar)
2 Eggs, beaten
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 1/2 cups Flour (all purpose)
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 1/2 cups Chocolate Chips

Preheat oven to 350* F.
Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Beat together sugars and butter until well blended.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Sift together the flour and baking soda in a separate bowl.
Stir flour mixture into the butter/egg mixture.
Add in chocolate chips and stir until blended.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto your lined cookie sheets.
Be sure they are well spaced as they REALLY spread!
**Note ~ If you want them not to spread so much add another 1/2 cup of flour.
When I made them that way, they were still fabulous ~ just a little thicker.

Bake in 350* F oven until golden brown ~
10 to 12 minutes.

~ Makes about 60 cookies ~

Let cool a few minutes on the pans until they firm up a bit.
Transfer to cooling racks.
Share while they are warm.

OH. YUM.!!

Wanting What I Have said...

Oh my. I can almost reach into the photo and grab one...and I can already imagine their soft insides, with a hint of a crunch to the bottom...(maybe I got that wrong?) Y.U.M. i'll be adding this to my recipe folder. Thanks.

Oh yes J! They are (in my humble opinion) the BEST of chocolate chip cookies! I have made MANY in my day. If you want them to be soft and slightly crunchy (as you correctly imagined) leave the recipe as is. If you want a thicker and less "spreadable" cookie add in a little more flour. I have done them with 2 cups of flour which cut WAY down on the "spread", but didn't really affect taste. They were still Yummy! (Too yummy)...good thing I had a few people to share with! ;-)

Love,
Camille

I agree with the dangerous part. They sure do look delicious though. I'm making a cherry pie today and that is not a good thing as well. But, it's a once in a while treat right? I think you're so wise to make half a batch because it helps to keep it all in moderation.

Enjoy your cookies with your precious family.

I'll be right over to eat one with a cup tea with you, ok? I love chocolate chip cookies. I make Ranger cookies that have oatmeal in them and add chocolate chips and craisins, yummy!! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!

Dear Christa ~ I think you are doing something a little more healthy as there is FRUIT in yours. Could it count as a "serving" of fruits and veggies? ;-)

Dear Patty ~ I hope you like them...we sure do! :)

Dear Becky ~ You'd be most welcome for tea and cookies! :)

Blessings,
Camille

You are most welcome Barbara! I hope you like them! :)

I'm so glad you are planning to bake these Linda! Actually, the recipe was adapted from a British one...with weights, etc...would you like me to tell you those details? I'd be happy to. :)

Blessings,
Camille

Hi Camille,

Those look absolutely delicious and yes, dangerous. Although it only 'somewhat' helps, we like to freeze extra cookie dough as dough balls. That way we can have some present help with portion control and it makes it easy to pop some out of the freezer for a last-minute dessert! (It's still a little dangerous because frozen dough balls are also yummy!)

Hi Heather ~ I think your idea is FABULOUS!! I will have to try it. Raw dough has no appeal for me...ever since I realised that it's got raw eggs in it ~ I was ruined for life! ;-)

Love,
Camille
