Deck the Halls!

Come on in!
Would you like a mug of hot cocoa
or hot apple cider?
Sit by the fire and I will
be right there. :)

I *love* candles ~
so warm and welcoming.
This candle is at the top of the stairs
as you enter our home.

The table candle ~
cheery and fun!

I just had to include a photo of the
upstairs bathroom ~
there are candles in there too.
Maybe I should tell you why.

My story about candles goes like this ~
A precious Aunt who has a *way* of making everything
beautiful, had us over to visit one evening long ago.

There were candles
E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E.

It made such an impression on me!
I have not been the same ever since.
No matter how you decorate ~
fancy or simple...
Candles lit throughout the home will
make it very welcoming and cozy.

Enjoy these precious days as we remember the
Saviour's first coming.
HE is the Real Reason we celebrate!
I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit ~
come again soon!

Blessings,
Camille

You probably know I love candles Camille! So lovely to see your home so cozy and bright. I don't have stairs but if I did I would also wind a garland around the hand rail. I do have an old Singer sewing machine table - it is very similar to yours. We have the same tastes in decorating our homes I believe!

Cider for me please! I'd love to visit your lovely home. Do you know a trick to keep candles burning evenly? All mine tend to go lopsided for some reason. Even the ones in a jar burn down on one side. Maybe Canadian candles are better behaved????!!!!???? Or maybe candles just don't like me:(

Dear Ann ~ Thank you for your sweet compliments! I think you are right about the decorating...your wood stove is one of my favourites from your home...so cosy and inviting. :)

Dear Chelle ~ Welcome! So lovely to *meet* you! Oh, candles really do create such a wonderful atmosphere...I'm glad you think so too! :)

Dear Virginia ~ Thank you for your sweet encouragement...it's a blessing to me! Have a lovely day too! :)

Dear Jenn ~ Thank you! How wonderful that you *love* candles too! I think it's great that you put them in every room...very special. :)

Dear Lois ~ LOL!! Your candles misbehave?? Is there a draft nearby, or if they are slightly tipped, that will do it too. Hmmm....I've had *good* candles and *bad* candles...those are my only tips. Maybe if someone else reads this they will be able to help you ~ ideas anyone??

Dear Jill ~ Thank you for your sweet compliments. Oh how pretty candles make everything...changes the ordinary to the wonderful, don't you think? :)

To each of you ~ I would love to have a *blogger* party and invite you all in for a visit...it would be wonderful! May the LORD bless each of you with HIS peace and presence this CHRISTmas. Many blessings from our home to yours!

In His Love,
Camille

Your house is so beautiful! How do you keep it so clean? I have no children just two cats my husband and me and its always crazy unorganized. Question though, that candle thats in the stick holder.... does it drip everywhere or do you have a way of catching the wax? I would love to do more candles but I am afraid of burning down the house :-) would you mind sharing a few tips.

So pretty!! I have at least one scented candle lit each and every day. I just love the way it warms the kitchen up with a little glow and the wonderful scent it gives off.

Your home is beautiful!

Dear Justine ~ I should have said that I had *just* finished cleaning and snapped a few photos before my Mom and brother came for a Christmas gathering with us...so it was dressed up for company...it doesn't always look like this!! AND we have a basement and I didn't photograph the bedrooms...a bit misleading, I suppose. To answer question about the candles...I did put a napkin and parchment paper under that candle *just in case*, but it wasn't necessary...the type of candle is a "carriage" candle which burns a little nicer than tapers, I think. I have other candles that do drip and they are in holders that will accomodate that. The candle in the bathroom that is in the angel holder does drip, but I don't mind...what's underneath it the arborite...works fine. Hope that answers some of your questions! Tea lights in holders are always great 'cuz they don't spill wax and they are contained, yet give off a lovely glow. Enjoy! :)

Dear Treasures ~ Your comments are very sweet...thank you! May the LORD help us to make our homes welcoming to others for HIS glory...that is the real reason for it all! May HE give the grace when things don't go as planned...I *so* need HIM!!

Dear Cinnamon ~ Thank you for your sweet words today...they are a blessing. I agree with you...candles really make things seem more special. Enjoy your candles today! :)

Camille,

Your home looks so nicely decorated here and so "homey." I hope your mom and brother's family enjoyed the time you put into making it that way!

Ah, candles do make it special don't they? We just had all my family in this weekend to celebrate a late Christmas. We were all eating the meal and I'd forgotten to light the candle. When I did, and turned down the lights, you should have heard the sighs. It made all the difference. We also had candles lit in the fireplace since it was too warm for a fire--Christmas weekend around freezing & New Year's around 60F! Big change.

Lord bless you,
Teresa
