Braces ON and Braces OFF

Austin wore braces for over
two and a half years.

Was it a joy?

When asked if he was ready to have them removed,
this was his answer ~
"I've been ready for this for two years!"

I suppose that means he endured them.

And so the adventure began for one
and was completed for the other.
The date was November 17, 2010.

Austin in this chair...

And Emma in this one...

Emma's is more of a *preventative* case at the moment.
She only has brackets on six of her top teeth ~
they will only need to be worn less than three months.
It is still very exciting for an eight year old.
She was thrilled with her Christmas coloured ties...
perfect timing!

Austin is looking *all grown up* with his completed smile ~
Braces Free! :)

One happy young man.

Post Script ~
Emma got her braces off today! :)

Ahh, yes, braces! I remember those days with our daughter. She was in high school when our dentist informed us she needed them. Her orthodontist appointments were scheduled on her breaks from college! But her award winning smile made it all worth it...for us, as parents, anyway! :)

Both Austin and Emma have beautiful smiles...with or without braces.

Very handsome :)
So THAT'S what we have to look forward to! They won't put them on that early for Molly though. Wonder what the difference is?
Congratulations and enjoy your new smiles!

Oh, Camille! I *cringingly* remember the days of braces, oral surgeries, W arches, broken wires, tears, tightening!, pain, nightguards, the grand day of having them taken off and the sad day of needing them put back on! And that was for Gentleman Farmer! Ha! (They are off, now, but he still wears a wire in the back of his teeth ~ it will remain there permanently!) My girls wore braces also!
Happy days and beautiful smiles for Austin and Emma!
Blessings!

What a cute post. Handsome smile your young man has there! Your daughter looks cute with hers on. I think Josiah is going to have to have braces. We don't have any dental insurance, so I'm a little worried about how that will happen. Just have to take it one day at a time. He still has lots of teeth to lose before we see what exactly we need to do in the braces department.

Karen ~ LOL! But at that point you won't be paying for them...right? ;-)

Dianna ~ You always have something sweet to say...thank you! Braces surely are a common thing these days, aren't they! :)

Heather in Canada ~ Thank you! Emma had a different bite and required jaw expansion...when that was done, there were a few crooked teeth...she only had the brackets on six teeth for 2 1/2 months. Usually braces are done when all the adult teeth are in...so, I am sure that's what is happening with your Molly. :)

Raeann ~ Oh what a history you have there with all that dental talk!! Eeek!! Oh well...it's all in the past...what a blessing! :)

Chelle ~ Thank you! I certainly is a relief to have them off, isn't it? LOL! :)

Stephanie ~ Creative thoughts my friend! Oh, the spiritual lessons there are to be learned in all of life's experiences. :)

Heather in Oregon ~ When I had braces there were no choices for colours! How fun it was for her. I'd have to agree with you...they are wonderful to have off! :)

Jackie ~ Oh there is time...what a blessing! The LORD always provides for us in wonderful ways...don't worry! Thanks for your sweet encouragement. :)

Many blessings to you all!
In His Love,
Camille

Isn't that the best feeling? I remember getting mine off and just running over and over my teeth to feel how smooth they were.

He looks great!!

We have two that need braces but I'm holding off for a year or so. Waiting for teeth to fall out instead of having them pulled.

Thank you for my birthday wishes~

Cinnamon ~ Sorry, I missed replying to you on the last one...see the timing of that? :) Oh yes, I agree...it feels amazing to have them OFF! I could relate to that. I think you are smart to wait for those baby teeth to come out on their own...no need to rush things. :)

Jackie (bondservant) ~ Yes, it was worth it...what a blessing we were able to do it for him. They seem to grow up too quickly, don't you think? One step at a time with your two...be sure to use a certified Orthodontist...always the best way to go. If you are not comfortable with the suggestions that one makes, you can always get a second opinion as well. All the best! :)

Linda ~ Oh yes...he is very glad! Thanks for your sweet encouragement....have a lovely weekend too! :)

Many blessings,
Camille

Wanting What I Have said...

Oh braces...your children are beautiful and how wonderful to enjoy having those braces off!!! :) We have yet to begin that journey in our home, but no doubt will need to! :) I am so thankful my parents provided that luxury for me. Braces are a precious gift, for which I am thankful to this day.

Jennifer ~ I agree with you...they are a gift and a luxury! I am thankful that my parents did that for me too! One piece of friendly advice...wear your retainers at night at least twice a week for the rest of your life. :)

Love to you!
