Good Reads for Boys

Our boys have all enjoyed reading
Piet Prins Novels.

They are set in war time and the post-war era in
the context of a Christian home.
The main characters face challenges and
learn through faith-building situations.
Some of the books have been read more than once by
one of our boys ~
the litmus test of a good book,
wouldn't you agree? :)

Hello~
Thank you for your prayers and sweet words.
I am feeling better tonight. I have been using all the home remedies and Day Quil. I am in bed reading and feel better.

You are a blessing to me!

Those books look interesting. Are they older series from the 1950s or 1960s? I think I'll ask my dad about those. Those look really cool!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :) :)

p.s. Thanks for your comment on mhy blog :) :) I'm fine. I was sick this past week and I'm catching up with blogging :)

Dear Carrie ~ Oh I am glad you are doing much better! Get lots of rest my friend. :)

Dear Heather in Oregon ~ I don't know when they were originally published, the man who wrote them died in the mid-eighties...they were originally written in the Dutch language. Our boys have all enjoyed them very much. I'm so glad you are feeling better...it's nasty to be sick isn't it? Have a terrific week! :)

Many blessings,
Camille

Camille,
Thank you so much for these recommendations! All of our boys love to read and I'm always looking for more options for them. I haven't heard of either of these series. So glad you shared about them!

Dear Trisha ~ My boys have all enjoyed these...even my *non-reader* boy. I think it was these that got him a little more interested in reading for fun. :)

Many blessings,
Camille

Since I come from an all-girl house growing up, I'm always on the lookout for good boy books since I'm specializing in them! :) I'm bookmarking this for sure!

Dear Heather ~ How precious these young men are...might we raise them for HIS glory alone! Really, these are favourites around here...all our boys say so. :)

Many blessings,

Thank you so much for sharing these boys books and also about how your boys enjoy them. THey look fantastic. I clicked on the other links as well and found many treasures that I am going to look into buying for our read alouds.

I put the sites in my Favorites and Lable it "MUST BUY" instead of the real link so I woulnd't forget.

Do your Children have a favorite?

Carmen from Beloved's Bride.

Dear Carmen ~ It's lovely that you stopped by...thank you for letting me know you were here! :) I clicked over to your blog to learn that your children are younger than ours. In that case, I would begin with the "Scout" series...the "Shadow" series would be for children a little older than yours. I hope that helps. They are each a complete set, so you could begin with the first in the series ~ "Scout The Secret of the Swamp". I do hope you enjoy them! :)

Many blessings,
Camille
