Skating on Plastic?

Now, this was something new for us!
The children went skating outdoors
on a balmy, sunny day...
on some sort of plastic stuff!

It made the boys' skates
V.E.R.Y. dull.

But, they did enjoy the experience.

I liked it because it was close by.
And, best of all...
it was F.R.E.E.

Is it obvious that they had a great time?

Many blessings,
Camille

Now my children would love this too! Especially to have the chance to skate outside! I spotted my daughter's name in the advertisements on the sides! We spell her name with a y rather than an i. The twins have just passed their novice level for ice skating. The others are all past advanced level. Ezra has just passed spin 1. My friend from Canada tells me you have the same triangle badges and similar levels. My children just love receiving those badges. It is a great system as they always have something to work towards. I am so thankful we have an ice rink here - skating has kept them fit and it is so much fun, a great family activity.

They do indeed look like they had fun! I've never seen skating on plastic like that before. That's really interesting!

Now wait a sec!!! It was a balmy, sunny day and y'all still didn't skate in shorts!!?? :) (Remembering how y'all got such a kick out of us ice skating in shorts...)

And - I have laughed and then thought, "Oh dear! What will we do?!" as I have considered your comment on how far my soup recipe would go. Oh dear!!! I cannot fathom us putting that much away that fast, but no doubt, with three growing boys, I am sure. Still, that is a LOT of food. I can't imagine what our grocery budget will be!? :)

That is VERY cool! My girlfriend, whose boys are really into hockey, have a mini rink of that poly stuff in their garage!

I don't know much about ice skating, but skating on plastic is a new one for me, too!
It sure does look like they had a great time ~ and who wouldn't with that glorious sunshine! I am jealous! Can you believe that north of us, they are getting snow today? And we are only in the
30's ! I don't usually complain about the rain, but I truly am ready for spring and some of that sunshine!
;~P
Be Blessed today, my friend!

Dear Ann ~ Yes, skaing outdoors is a treat! Especially for our part of the world...it's not usually cold enough. But, plastic...it doesn't melt under the sun. :)

Dear Lisa ~ It was a fun experience...but, I do have to say, the boys prefer ice! :)

Dear Jennifer ~ LOL! Well, my friend, *balmy* for here means no coats...but not shorts! And yes, the food...God provides...what a blessing!! You are on the right track with a good, nourishing soup like you made there...it's an economical way to feed a crowd. :)

Dear Heather ~ Thank you for your encouragement my friend! :) Hmmm...the garage...now that's an idea! Although, we'd have to constantly be sharpening those skates! :)

Dear Karen ~ How fun to be *native* to the *tropical* part of your country! We enjoyed Florida when we visited a few years ago. Yes, *fun and free* is always a blessing! Have a great week too! :)

Dear Barbara ~ I agree! And, they did enjoy it! I didn't venture out onto it though. :)

Dear Raeann ~ It has been a cold, dark winter, hasn't it? I agree...sunshine is definitely what the doctor ordered! It's coming soon my friend! Hang in there! :)

Dear Jenn ~ Neither could they! LOL! I took them twice and then got their skates sharpened. :)

Dear Jackie ~ It was a nice little break in our day right in the neighbourhood...a blessing for sure! :)

Have a wonderful week!

Camille

Dear Sandy ~ It worked!! You did it! Yaay!! :) I often don't get around to posting comments for a day or so (sometimes more), so don't get nervous about it not showing up for awhile. Thanks for your sweet friendship...we are blessed to know you. :)

If they can send man to the moon, you can have plastic skating rinks, right? Who would have thunk it! Technology indeed! :0) Sounds like the children had a good time!

Dear Becky ~ LOL! I think it's more difficult to send a man to the moon...but I never thought of skating on plastic either! They did have a fun time...what a blessing! :)

Blessings to you!
