Chai Tea Latte ~ Homemade

Chai Tea Latte with Vanilla
is my preferred indulgence
whenever I go to Starbucks.

Y.U.M.

Recently, I was there
with a friend and our
two little girls.
As, per usual, I ordered
my usual.

And my friend asked if
I wanted the recipe for a
homemade Chai Tea.
You know what I said, right?

Yup.
That's right.

So, now I can share with you!
Are you excited?
You should be! :)

Measure out 1 cup water per
tea bag and set in a pot to boil.
(I really like this made with
Vanilla Rooibos...but,
any regular tea will do!)

Reduce heat to simmer and add
1 heaping teaspoon each of
the following whole spices (not ground) ~
Cardamom, Cloves, Fennel, and a Cinnamon stick.
Simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes
with lid partially vented.

Add in a heaping teaspoon of brown sugar
and 1 cup of full fat milk.

Heat through, but do not boil.
Strain and serve.

This recipe makes enough for one
GIANT mug or two regular sized ones...
with no option for seconds.

Enjoy!!

Thank you my sweet
friend for sharing! :)

Many Blessings,
Camille

My daughters and I love Starbucks chai tea. We don't buy it very often because of the expense. So now I will have a recipe.

Thank you...and my daughters thank you {smile}...cause we love doing "tea" together.

Mmm, thank you for sharing this, my friend! We drink hot tea in our home year round, so this will be great to have on hand. Love you!!

Oh, YuM! I just had Chai Tea this morning ~ not homemade but from the carton. Next trip to the store, I will purchase the ingredients. Sounds delightful! Thanks for sharing your new recipe and thank your friend for sharing with you! ;~P

I made a chai tea mix as Christmas gifts for friends and it was very well received! Presented in a little glass jar with a cinnamon stick tied on with raffia and the directions on a tag for making it on the stove. I found the recipe at a blog - similar to your friend's one but without the fennel. I sweeten mine with honey. I love the aroma that fills the kitchen. I'm thinking I might make some today now. I have only ever tried homemade chai tea and it is so easy to make!

I've never been a tea or coffee drinker but this actually sounds enticing. Does it taste as good as Starbucks? Have a good week!

HI Camille,

What a GREAT recipe. I really enjoy drinking Chai tea...and I think "homemade" is always a good option :) :) Thanks for the recipe.

Oh, I haven't been on blogger much, so I know I've missed a few of your posts :( :( Do you have a way of following your blog via email updates to one's inbox? I'll make sure not to miss any more :) :)

Dear Connie ~ Oh yes, expensive is right! We must come up with ways of doing these things on our own...I agree! :) I do hope you and your girls enjoy.

Dear Trisha ~ Ohhhh...I am comin' for tea soon! :)

Dear Raeann ~ I do hope you like it my friend! :)

Dear Ann ~ How loved your friends and family must feel when they open your homemade treasures for Christmas...YUM! :)

Dear Patty ~ If you are not a tea drinker, you may actually like this...it's sweet and spicy and yummy. No, it is not identical to Starbucks'...I think they have *secret* ingredients. :)

Dear Maryann ~ I do hope you enjoy it! :)

Dear Heather ~ How sweet of you to ask about the subcriber option...I will see if I can find out how to add it. No worries about missing posts....I totally understand! Just visit when it works out with LIFE! I have to do the very same thing. :)

Dear Jackie ~ I'm sure you will like it...so much better for you than the Starbucks' drinks...AND cheaper! :)

Many Blessings to you each one!
In HIS Love,
Camille

I've never tried Chai, but I may make some of this! I'd love to use the Tetley Tea (I believe it is Canadian, n'est pas?) but I don't think I can get it here. Have you made it with any other kind? Thanks!

Camille said...

Dear Lois ~ Ah, yes, I think you may be right on the Tetley tea...sorry about that! :) This tea is meant to be made with regular black tea...but, a rooibos (or red bush tea) would be nice if you want to avoid caffeine. I hope you like it! :)

Blessings,
Camille

Hi Camille,
Would it be okay if I shared this post on my Facebook page? I know a lot of my friends like chai tea lattes :) :) :)

Just on a random note, Blogger has seemed to taken away the "subscribe to comments on this post" function :( :( No worries, I'm going to make sure to stop by for a "visit" on a more regular basis :) :)

Love and hugs, Heather :)
