On the Lighter Side

Cookies.
They really are addictive.
And these are no exception.

I cannot bake unless
I am prepared to eat.

And, at the moment,
I am not prepared to.

Thankfully,
my family doesn't complain
when the cookie jar sits empty
for M.O.N.T.H.S.

Recently, I taught
Emma a few things about baking.
Her first project?
Cookies.

And these were the ones she baked ~
with a little help from Mummy.

And now,
the cookie jar is empty.

Are you willing to
fill yours up?

~ Basic Chocolate Chip Cookies ~
(Adapted from the back
of a Hershey's Chipits
Chocolate Chip Bag)

2/3 cup Butter, melted
2 cups Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Tbsp Water
2 1/2 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanilla
Dash of Sea Salt
2 cups Chocolate Chips
(Milk or semi-sweet)

Beat together first four
ingredients in mixer.
Stir in everything else
except the chocolate chips.
When everything is mixed
together nicely,
stir in the chocolate chips.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment.
Drop batter from spoon
well spaced apart ~
These will spread.

Bake at 375* F for 8-10 minutes.

Cool on pan before transferring
to wire rack to cool completely.

Store in your cookie jar for a few days,
or freeze for longer storage.
Be forewarned...
these are super duper good frozen!

Scary.
I know.

Happy Baking!
Blessings,
Camille

Oh Camille, I'm with you there sister.

If they are in the house, I'm too tempted and many a day I've given into my temptation. Why the need to lose weight? That's IT.

So for my sake, it's better not to bake at all. Kids really don't care...but oh those do look delicious. Will book mark it for another date....when this weight if finally off and I can have a "once in a while treat".

Thanks for the recipe.

Blessings,
Connie

Cookies are my favorite...just about any kind, chocolate chip probably tops the list. With just the two of us I do not bake as much as I used to but when I do I send a generous portion with my husband to work where he shares :)

I love homemade cookies...therefore I do not bake cookies. Cause love = eat. (but I think I might have to bke some banana bread tomorrow as there are several over ripe ones in the fruit bowl. Dang.

Dear Connie ~ Keep it up...you are doing great! Yes, indeed..."once in awhile" is the ONLY way to go! :)

Dear Jackie ~ It was one of those days.... :)

Dear Maryann ~ How wonderful that you share...I'm sure your hubby is a favourite at work! That's a GREAT idea!! :)

Dear Cindy ~ Yes...it's a *love-hate* thing for me too. I suppose you gathered that from the post. Enjoy your banana bread...at least there is some goodness in it! :)

Dear Chelle ~ Your family will thank you. :)

Many Blessings,
Camille

Chocolate Chip cookies are my weakness. I eat WAY too many when I make them.

I don't think we'd actually get to the cookie making part as we LOVE to eat the dough :-)

Your look yummy!

Dear Jenn ~ We are kindred spirits. :)

Dear Cinnamon ~ Ah, yes...the cookie-dough-eating phenomenon. I used to eat it too...until I figured out that there were raw eggs in it. LOL! :)

Love to you both!
