One by One

One by one I count.
Over time, it can become tempting to quit.
But, joy can be found in the numbering.
And perspective changes as I do.

Above all else...
we are commanded to give thanks.
The real reason why I ought to continue.

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will
of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
~ I Thessalonians 5:18 ~

How easy it is to complain.
To grumble.
To be ungrateful.

How disagreeable it is!

What a long-suffering and
merciful God we serve!
HE would be fully justified to
strip all goodness from my life.

But, HE doesn't.

That's mercy. That's grace.
And I am thankful that HE extends
them both in generous amounts to me!

1691. Colourful jelly beans and enjoying a *few*

1692. *Old* (read: from my childhood) music books for

1693. *Old* (read: from my childhood...again) "Little House"
set of books to share with my own children

1694. *Dress-up* shoes worn and cast off...
time and time and time again!

You would not believe how MUCH these get worn!)

1697. How school migrates up to the kitchen table

1698. The wind chimes installed for another season ~

1699. Getting these inside...

1700. ...Before this happens!
And, just for the record, it happens a lot around here. :)

1701. That Austin wants to learn how to do a back flip ~
And that Emma takes the part of *coach*!

1702. Decorating her room with the outdoors...so pretty

1703. Decorating her door in similar fashion

1704. And finding her like this in the morning...

1705. That Howie replaced my line when the old one broke

1706. That both lines were put up before one
was even in service last year

1707. Taking advantage of the
neighbourhood swimming pool ~ It's free! :)

1708. Austin has gained 30 lbs since December!

1709. He even has begun wrestling with Howie again!

1710. My Lawn mower boy

1711. My Bathroom Cleaner boy

1712. My Laundry helpers

1713. My Vacuum operator

1714. My Dishwashing helpers

1715. Easy meals

1716. School is nearing completion

1717. Projects are getting done

1718. A wonderful support teacher

1719. A terrific school to be a part of

1720. And that we *get to* do this at home...
Together! :)

I list as events unfold.
Sometimes many all at once,
and other times in a trickle.
But, always by HIS Grace!

Would you like to begin?
Just grab a pen and a journal,
set them out on the counter,
and list out your blessings.
Find the joy in the moments ~
As they arrive.

Enjoy the journey!

Many Blessings,
Camille

Yum! I would share a 'few' jelly beans with you! I like the licorice the best!
Ah, yes! I have several of those 'old' music books waiting for my little grands to use ~ after I get the piano to them!
We have the same Little House set!
(Oh, my! Emma got her hair cut! How cute and just in time for summer!)
I so enjoy the sound of wind chimes. I used to have many but now down to one.
Yep! We get lots of that wet stuff too!
A back flip!? Believe it or not, I used to be able to do one waaaayyyy
back when I was a cheer leader in Jr. High School. Now I'm just thankful to be able to get out of bed in the mornings! ;~P
A great list of thankfulness, Camille.
Blessings!

Thankfulness is good. I was a bit grumpy on Sunday evening...but I talked myself right out of it. Why? Because I'd had a blessed day and church and then at Bible study that evening. Just like satan trying to make my joyfulness disappear. Not for long. I turned it into thankfulness. Thanks for your thankfulness!

Wanting What I Have said...

I have the SAME LIttle House set!!! :) And I am SO happy and thankful to read of that 30lb weight gain. Praise the Lord! He is so kind.

Dear Raeann ~ How lovely it was to read you response to my list! I learned a little more about you and it was a treat...thank you for entering into it with me. :) A back flip??!! You really are a fun Grandma! :)

Dear Heather ~ I will enjoy seeing that photo of your kids doing school outside on the blanket...what fun! Fraser was noticing how nice it was outside (not hot, mind you) and he was itching to go out. I'm glad I said *yes*! :)

Dear Becky ~ It's amazing how we can do that, isn't it? Talk TO ourselves, rather than LISTEN...SO powerful!! I'm glad you were able to snap out of it and rejoice! God is Good!! :)

Dear Jennifer ~ Yes, my friend...YES...the LORD is so kind! Truly. It has been like watching a miracle take place over a period of time...day by day. How thankful we are!! :)

With Love,
Camille

Oh what a wonderful list you made. The jelly bean? Oh yes, I could eat (at few LOL) of those. LOL.

So thankful to see Austin has gained some weight back. Will continue to pray.

And yes, living here on the west coast this spring has proven very much "rain, rain and more rain LOL".

Hugs,
Connie

Sweet thankfulness Camille. At the end of a school year it is good to give thanks. I am going to do the same! I am always thankful at the end of school year because somehow even in the hardest years there is that feeling of having survived, accomplished and learned some Godly lessons. Surviving in joy, like you have is indeed great testimony! Blessings Pippa

Dear Pippa ~ You are always the encourager...thank you! May the LORD give you HIS grace and strength and may your Summer be a wonderful one! :)

Many Blessings,
Camille

As always, I love these grateful posts! We adore homeschooling out of doors as well. We are starting to plan Hailey's "Little House" 5th birthday party and having so much fun doing! I loved the pic of Austin being coached by Emma. How cute is that? Hugs to you and thank you for your words of encouragement on my last blog post :)
