More Progress

The last few days I've been doing a little of this.
Making a little more progress.
One step at a time.

The prep is as important as the painting.
Maybe more important ~
My humbly submitted opinion, of course.
I believe in taping and using drop sheets.

Plastic is always a good thing too. :)

Austin's room is one of the areas in our home
involved in the latest of our renovation endeavours.
It will double as the guest room ~ What a blessing!

Oh, and did I mention that I believe in taping?
Here's my new favourite tape.
Is it ever worth the money!!

There are two types ~ one is for use on delicate areas such as wallpaper,
and the other is for *regular* use.  I bought both.

Thank you Dad for the recommendation!

See how great it works??
I'm sure I could sell this stuff!!

Really..I *love* it!!  :)

To quote my friend Jennifer ~
who also happens to be painting...
"Happy Weekend Y'all!"

 Many Blessings, Camille

Wanting What I Have said...

Aww...y'all!!! (I am grinning!) Looking good, Camille! Are we using the same paint color? I just finished to tonight. I did not tape because I've always had issues with the tape I used, but I've never used the frog tape-I'll have to give that a try.

Yes, I bought Frog Tape and it did work better for this last time when I painted...the other wall in my dining room. I painted 2 days so it probably would have worked better if I did it all in one day. I want to paint one wall in the kitchen,,,maybe later. Thanks for visiting my blog. I need to go now and get stuff cleared off my table before it hits bed time. Have a good rest of the week! Hugs and blessings!

I agree with you, Camille! Taping is SO very important to have a nice looking finish...i.e. smooth finish where the paint colors meet, etc.! And I am going to remember the name of the tapes you used because I have some painting I would love to do around here.

I really like the colors you've chosen...they look so nice together with the wallpaper.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I will keep that tape in mind. I should be painting, but just haven't had time. Too busy with the garden and trying to get back into the swing of homeschooling. If it turns into a winter project, I'll definitely have to pick some of that stuff up :) Thanks for the tip and happy painting!

How exciting! I can't wait to see everything when it's done. And, friend, I can't stand all the prep work. I have to make myself do it. :) I have a feeling you were born organized.

Love you!!

Dear Jennifer ~ Ah, yes...the *leaky tape* situation! How I can relate! That's why I was so thrilled to find this stuff. Wow...it is great! As for the colour...mine is a tan from a Canadian company. It's warm and welcoming. I've been enjoying painting with you. :)

Dear Becky ~ How wonderful that you have been doing some sprucing up in your home too...what a blessing! Clearing off the table is a good thing...papers...where do they come from??!! :)

Dear Jenn ~ Thank you for your encouragement my friend. :)

Dear Dianna ~ What a sweet encouragement you are...thank you for your kind words. :)

Dear Jackie ~ Enjoy these days...they fly by so quickly!! Don't worry about getting to the painting...it can wait! (Speaking from experience here...the time will come). :)

Dear Trisha ~ You make me smile. Born organized?? LOL! Love to you too! :)

Many Blessings,
Camille

Oh, how I want to just slap some paint up without taping! BUT, I usually succumb to the wisdom of detailed preparation :)
Hope you're planning on showing "after" photos, Camille!

Camille said...

Dear Heather ~ I know that temptation is there for me too, but, oh how I *love* it when the prep is in place...makes things go so much smoother. Live and learn. Thank you for wanting to see the *after*...hopefully one day there will be an *after* to show! LOL! :)

Blessings to you!

How fun to be painting. I love to paint and use good tape :-) I think we tried that tape the last time we painted and it *was* good :-)

Hope you're done soon and having a great time!

I hate to paint walls but since there is no one else to do it - I have been getting better at it and enjoying the sense of accomplishment at the finished work.

Your room looks amazing! Keep up the good work!

Miss you and love you and praying for your family right now!

Stephanie

Way to go!! So much fun, seeing the "new and fresh" emerge from the "old and not-so fresh."

Enjoy the beauty, my friend. :)

Hi sweet friend! So sorry I have been away. I left a new post on my blog to help catch you up. It looks as though you have also been busy. Austin is still in our prayers at home and at church.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Phil. 1:3

Blessings, Donna
