What lovely memories they will have of that tradition! I agree...*clean* books are such a blessing. :)

Dear Jennifer ~ Oh yes...Nancy! That was me too...I must have read 40 of them. Thank you too for sharing another title with us here...I've not heard of that book. It's always wonderful to get recommendations. :)

Dear Lois ~ What treasures you mentioned! I *LOVED* the "Little House" books...all nine of them. I read whatever I could get my hands on biography-wise about Laura Ingalls Wilder too. :) And yes, of course, "Anne of Green Gables"...I devoured all eight in that series. Thank you for entering into the discussion...it's lovely to learn about some *new to me* books. I will have to check them out. :)

Dear Robin ~ Thank you for sharing your love of reading with us here. Oh yes, "Little House"...such a wonderful series of books!! I remember reading one of them aloud to our two oldest when they were only 5 and 3 years old and it inspired them to dig a well in the back yard (with man-sized shovels)...it was a serious business!! LOL! :)

Thank you each one for sharing your love of reading with us all. It will be fun to check out some of the books you mentioned. Thornton Burgess wrote a LARGE series of children's books. Mother West Wind is one, most are about animal characters. They make good read-alouds too. And Beatrix Potter is another favorite author. Wind in the Willows is a must read! In reading over my list, it seems like I like animals talking!Loisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-345646302373200929.post-13383746224657110052011-06-03T07:28:44.832-07:002011-06-03T07:28:44.832-07:00I loved the Bobbsey Twins too!
