May the LORD help us to serve HIM in spirit and in truth! I know of the book you mentioned...we had a copy of it at one time and do have the second one in that series...very interesting to read the stories behind the hymns, isn't it? Thanks for sharing! :)

Many blessings to you!
CamilleCamillehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07838089502798643241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-345646302373200929.post-9324361161087907062011-02-14T06:56:11.991-08:002011-02-14T06:56:11.991-08:00I love the hymns, which I grew up on as the daught...I love the hymns, which I grew up on as the daughter of a Methodist minister. It is hard to find a church that uses hymns AND has good theology. I'm enjoying a book right now that you may like. It's Amazing Grace by Kenneth Osbeck. It's a collection of hymn stories. He has other books as well, and I find this makes a great devotional for myself, or for the family. Blessings to you for sharing these great words.Loisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-345646302373200929.post-86085127245333407382011-02-13T14:49:47.947-08:002011-02-13T14:49:47.947-08:00Dear Heather ~ Well...I'm glad! It wasn't till I got born again in 1978 that I heard them. And even then not too many as we were in a contemporary full gospel church. I love going thru an old hymn book that I have and just reading page after page...

In His grace,
CindyFarmgirl Cynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06596602094024708943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-345646302373200929.post-83667181983906162182011-02-12T05:36:13.241-08:002011-02-12T05:36:13.241-08:00What a gorgeous hunk of creation!
