Staying Local

Summer took a LONG time to arrive ~
and now it seems to have disappeared again.
It's the way it is in this part of the world.
We make the most of it.

When the days are warm,
it's always a joy to go to the beach.
We have a local favourite ~
It includes a play area and fire pits.

We were there one afternoon/evening last week.

If you click on the image below,
and look into the distance,
you will see Calvin (in a red t-shirt ~
just to the left of the swing set pole),
and Austin (in a yellow t-shirt ~
at the very far right of the picture) playing Frisbee!
It was an unplanned surprise that I captured
them in this photo! How fun is that? :)

"Our spot" for the first part of the evening.
Can you see the white mountain-top
in the middle of the sky just above the umbrella?
That's Mount Baker ~ pretty, isn't it? :)

The boys had a little Frisbee game going while
Fraser and Emma were at the park ~ I even joined in.
Howie was with the other two ~
he got a chance to play a little later on.

Water activities were enjoyed ~ Of course!

We ended the evening with a cook-out ~
What a treat!

We were so smoky when we arrived home ~
showers were needed all around.
But, it was well worth it!

We have plans for day outings locally this summer ~
It's a blessing to block a day off here and there
to enjoy the area the LORD has placed us in.

What about you?
Do you have any summer plans?
Please do tell!
Happy Summer to you all!

With Love,
Camille

Went to the beach already and just did a fun little post about sand. Going to a renaissance faire where there's re=enactors, Can't wait to go...medivial times. Our weather has been cloudy this week and mid 70s, weekend to be warmer and sunny, supposedly. Going to one last service for my friend Marge later this week, sigh. Lots of photos lately. Looks like you all had a good time. Staying close is nice. Hugs and take care, my friend!

What great pics! Looks like you guys are enjoying the most of your short summer. We just had a tornado warning here tonight, but we got some really big hail stones but no tornado. Whew! Tornadoes are very odd for Eastern Oregon.

Dear Becky ~ That was a sweet post you did! Cute. :) Sorry about your friend Marge. May the LORD bless you.

Dear Jackie ~ A tornado warning??!! Crazy! So glad it didn't materialize after all. Have a happy summer with your precious ones. Blessings to you! :)

Summer always seems to fly by. We spend much of our time at the pool or the beach. This year we are going to go to a lake house with both sons, grandchildren and son's MIL...looking forward to spending time with all the family

Cool weather? It's been in the 40's here, which is waaay too hot and rare for Ontario. Still, we definitely enjoy the heat more than you do waaaay over there :)

Love that your excursion bonded you together, especially that your boy was able to be active!

Can't wait till we can camp as a family--our favourite part of the year.

Just checked out your scones recipe. Must give them a whirl.

Love, Heather

Dear Heather ~ Incredible how we can be in the same country and have opposite types of weather, isn't it?? I'm thankful for our *usual* low to mid 20's...once it gets toward the 30's I cannot function very well. :) Have a wonderful time camping with your family! Enjoy the scones...I'm sure they will be a hit.

Love to you!
Camille

Looks like everyone had so much fun. What a beautiful place to live so close to. I love to get away to the mountains ~ although I find the water so beautiful and refreshing also.

You captured some great shots! Looks like everyone is having a wonderful time! ;-) Summer does fly by too quickly. It has been so hot here too hot to enjoy being outside. Fall has always been my favorite season so i am looking forward to Sept. ;-)
Have a great week!

Dear Patty ~ God's creation is wonderful isn't it? What a blessing that you have mountains nearby to enjoy. :)

Dear Jill ~ We've not had any of those unbearably hot days yet...we may not get any...we just take it one day at a time. Enjoy your Summer! Yippee for the seasons! :)

Many Blessings,
Camille
