Sister Time!

I only have one sister.
And, as it happens, one brother as well.
Just the three of us.  And, since my sister lives in California,
we don't have much (in the flesh) sister time.

We chat on the phone and text, but, it's not the same thing
as an in-person visit.  Definitely not quite as good.

My brother lives only five minutes away.
Brother time is easier to orchestrate.  And, it is a good thing.
But, this post is not about that.  :)
The three of us together is an extremely rare treat.

My sister has hosted us multiple times in her home.
Click here and here and here and here and here for proof of that.
So, a little reciprocal hospitality was in order.

First, their girl arrived.  Ahead of her parents.  On a plane.  Alone.
The rest of her family followed behind a little over a week later by car.

They stayed with us for a total of nine nights.

The days and nights were full of activity.
Some of that activity involved us, and some didn't.
Since my sister and her hubby both grew up here,
they had many people to see.  Many people to catch up with.

A few nights, we were already in bed when they arrived home.
They didn't wake us up on their way in ~ so quiet and considerate.

They left exhausted.
But, happy.  I think?  ;-)

We are looking forward to another visit soon.
The house has gotten strangely quiet in their absence.
Family truly is a blessing from the Lord.

With Love,

What a blessing. My sisters live within an hour and a half drive. I think sometimes I forget what a blessing that is. So glad you were able to have a visit face to face! Have a wonderful, blessed day!

Dear Camille,
That is so nice that your sister was able to come and visit you. :) It sounds as though they had a busy but nice time while they were there and the cousins enjoyed being together too. :) It is always so sad when the company leaves ( our house doesn't EVER get quiet though. :))

How wonderful Camille. You are a beautiful family. Those are memories that remain forever. I don't have a sister, and have always wished for one. I do have two brothers, and I know when we get together, it is like this; very special, a little crazy and a lot of fun. I know what it is like to go "back home" and try to catch up with old friends, so I can imagine that they were busy, and you were all busy over nine days time. So glad Calvin got the pictures.

Becky ~ Yes, truly they were fun times. Thank you for your encouragement to our Calvin. He enjoys taking pictures which, as you well know, makes all the difference. Hugs. :)

Jill ~ Precious is exactly the right word...I know you understand!! Hugs to you. :)

Nikki ~ Yes, it was sad when they left...but, we hope it won't be too long before they are back! And, I was actually speaking tongue-in-cheek on the quiet statement...our home is rarely quiet either. Although, I imagine your's is a tad bit louder than ours! What a blessing. Hugs. :)

Pam ~ Emma is in the same boat as you...wishing for a sister. However, I think the lack of a sister makes her girl-cousin time extra special. Thank you for your sweet comments about our always bless my heart. Hugs to you! :)

Angela ~ was a special blessing to have them here with us for those days. God is so very good to us, isn't He? Hugs. :)
