Short Track Speed Skating ~ Improvised!

Our boys, along with some neighbourhood friends, have put together their own version of the Olympic Short Track. Pinecones mark the edges of the corners and instead of ice skates they use roller blades. Oh the inspiration that can come out of hosting the Winter Olympics! It has been a joy to see them use their imaginations in such creative (and active) pursuits. :)

Oh, to be that fit once again! That looks like such fun. I am always amazed at the things my children come up with too.

God bless,

Ahh youth! Wish I had the exhuberance! (I just think of me falling on that pavement! Ouch! I don't like pain~it hurts me! :~D)
So nice to see kids playing outside instead of always in at the computer or tv! They look like they are having so much fun!

Blessings!

Camille,
This looks like great fun! I don't think it would work too well on dirt roads though, huh? :)

Heather ~ I just had to get pictures...they involved a few other boys on the street ~ fun times! :)

J ~ What they won't think of hey? Just wait...your little man has more in store! ;-)

Jackie ~ I agree...to be fit once again would be wonderful! LOL...I remember thinking how "out of shape" I was...hmmmm...now I realise the truth! :)

Raeann ~ Oh yes...the fear of falling I can relate to! They were going quickly and it had me cringing too...I am amazed at how few injuries they have!

Sharon ~ So glad your Michael enjoyed seeing this...they really are "all boy"! All three of them! Thanks for your encouraging words! :)

Trisha ~ I definitely wouldn't encourage it to be attempted on a dirt road! :)

Cinnamon ~ Your kids are a creative bunch...have they done something similar? :)

Blessings,
Camille

Hi Camille
That just looks like so much fun! I would love to join in - although I'd be guaranteed to break something!
The olympics has inspired so much here as well - it's a great opportunity for the kids to learn about different sports (some of which are not even done over here!)
I just want to add that I really like your blog template - the prettiest one I've ever seen!
Have a lovely day
Renata :)

That is so cool! My kids would do something like that, especially my older boys. They love to immulate (sp) what they see.

Oh about the nursing. I do have a little pressure with the weaning. Hubby and I are leaving for five days at the end of May for our 15th anniversary. I want her to be completely weaned so that my mom will not have too hard of a time and I won't be miserable (I don't own a breast pump). So that is why I am trying so hard to ease her out of it.

Jackie ~ They had a terrific time and kept up with it for a few days. They are back into the usual street hockey, but it was fun while it lasted! :)

Renata ~ Thanks for stopping by! :) I agree with you...breaking something would be my fear too, but they seem fearless!! I think Australia has amazing wonders of it's own...to think you can see Koala Bears that are not in a Zoo! AND thanks for your sweet compliment...I found it online somewhere and snapped it up due to the fact that it fit so well with the name of my blog.

Stacie ~ Of course! I was not trying to "persuade" you, just encourage!! I totally understand! I had to wean one of mine when he wasn't quite finished due to a surgery...not fun! I never owned a pump either...so I do understand! AND have a WONDERFUL trip!! How FUN!! :)

Blessings,
Camille

I agree Mavis! Although, some of the things they come up with I wish they wouldn't! :)
