If we delight in the LORD alone,
then, everything is brighter.
Even in the dark.
Beginning to learn this truth here these days ~
Beginning to learn this truth here these days ~
Our delight ought to be found only in HIM.
It's easy when life is easy to delight in the gifts
rather than in the Giver.
Too easy.
But, when things are difficult, and life is hard ~
Too easy.
But, when things are difficult, and life is hard ~
It's then that we come to terms with these things.
It's then that we realise what brings us joy.
True joy.
True joy.
Is it found in stuff? Good health? Happiness?
Or, is it found in its completeness
in the LORD Jesus Christ?
in the LORD Jesus Christ?
In HIM alone?
It's a struggle. Our hearts are deceitful.
But, when all is stripped away, what's left is what matters.
If we find nothing there, then we must refocus.
Regain our footing. On the Rock.
In the end, all that matters is HIM.
Most of us will not be asked to live as those in persecuted lands do.
In prison for their faith. Beaten for believing.
Torn from family, friends, and home.
They have been stripped of all that is dear.
But, have they? Really? No, not if their joy is found in HIM.
Oh, that this lesson would be learned without the suffering.
Too often, it isn't.
Suffering very often is exactly what we need.
It's what drives us deeper into the Saviour.
Deeper into His arms. Deeper into His Word.
Only there will true peace and contentment be found.
Only in Him is lasting joy realised.
Not in stuff. Not in health. Not in happiness.
In Jesus Christ. Alone.
Much Love,
Camille

In Christ alone, my Cornerstone....when I have been in the pits of despair, He alone has been there for me.
This post is spot on. Suffering, difficulties, trials are never pleasant but they can be such a heart revealer...at least they have been to me. In the various trials we have experienced through the years, God has used each to refine us, transform us and to draw us into deeper relationship with him...it is a hard concept but as you said, suffering very often is exactly what we need
Blessings to you

So true, Camille. Suffering is what drives us to Him. Never do we feel closer to Him than when we need Him the most.
Dear Jackie ~ How we need Him...for everything! How precious He is!!
Love to you!
Camille
I know for me it was when I was completely broken and brought to my knees that I truly began to seek out the Lord.
This post is so full of truth! Love to you!
Dear Jenn ~ How true it is. So often, it is necessary to be brought low before we can soar! Our Loving Heavenly Father is so gracious to us, isn't He? Love to you, too! :)
Many Blessings,
Camille
