We were going to do it all in one day.
Drive up (early) to Whistler (3 hours away) ~
Howie would be busy with work while I wandered around the village
with the children for the day ~ and then, we would drive back home
(late) that night. But...
Howie's sister and husband
kindly allow us to use their time-share when it's available.
And...it was available! :)
So...we had a little two night getaway at the end
of our school year. We are thankful!
We arrived on the first night just in time to see the Canucks
(our hockey team) lose game seven of the
Stanley Cup playoffs to Boston. A sad day.

Howie worked the next day. We explored.
The 2010 Olympics were held in Vancouver.
One of the venues for ski events was Whistler Mountain.
We went to the top and found this bobsled.
A perfect photo opportunity ~ no?
Oh. Dear. Me. What an experience!
Fear of heights anyone?
The view from up there...God's magnificent creation!
We discovered the Olympic Rings
at the edge of Whistler Village.
Howie was able to join us the last day we were there...
We found the torch! :)
The drive provides breathtaking views.
So beautiful!
1426. A couple of nights away as a family ~
joining Howie on a business trip.
1427. Enjoying the outdoors with the children
1428. Canoeing and Kayaking together for an hour
1429. Spotting and eagle ~
Calvin was able to get some great shots with his zoom lens! :)
1430. The majesty of the mountains ~
I never tire of their beauty
1431. New experiences and sharing them with our children
I list as events unfold. Sometimes many all at once,
and other times in a trickle.
Would you like to begin? Just grab a pen and a journal,
set them out on the counter, and list out your blessings.
Find the joy in the moments ~ as they arrive.
Enjoy the journey!
Many Blessings, Camille

What a wonderful getaway. I love Whistler!
Praising God with you today!
I have to say we are a bruins house here to so game seven was a total victory for us but sorry it put a damper on your vacation.... otherwise I wanted to say where you guys went looks beautiful. Im glad you guys had a nice vacation!
Justine
Dear Becky ~ Yes, indeed....HE is worthy of all our praise!! You have been to Whistler?? Do you live nearby? :)
Dear Justine ~ LOL...well, the Bruins winning did make some people happy...that's good! Congratulations. :) It didn't ruin our day or anything...but, we were hoping that this was the year for the cup!
Many blessings,
Camille
At least the gondola was enclosed Camille! I've been on gondola rides in New Zealand and they are the best way to see the magnificent scenery. It is the plain old chair lifts at ski resorts with their narrow seats that have just a bar across that scare me - I'm quite a slender person and convinced I could quite easily slip out from under that bar!
So good that you could have a 'mini' family holiday and the photos are evidence that a great time was had by all!
I love visiting whistler...never done it in the summer though...probably time to change that.
The view is priceless....and you have a beautiful family....priceless
Love that you were so blessed as to get to spend 2 nights there! Never been, looks like fun though :)
Beautiful pictures! What a wonderful experience!! Thanks for sharing!
Blessings,
Jill
oh what a wonderful blessing, Camille!
Emma took some great photos...Well done, Emma!
Dear Ann ~ Oh how frightening that must have been! Apparently, this gondola has the highest and longest unsupported span in the world...it broke three world records...I'm glad it was enclosed! LOL! :)
Dear Connie ~ Oh it is so beautiful in the Summer...do go! :) Thank you for your kind words...we were so thankful that we were able to join Howie.
Dear Jackie ~ When are you coming for a visit?? :)
Dear Jill ~ It was fun to enjoy it with the children...thank you for your sweet encouragement. :)
Dear Julia ~ Emma will be pleased that you liked her photos...thank you for encouraging her! :)
Many blessings,
Camille
Someday, Camille! I seriously want to meet you and your family. I'm praying it will happen in His time :)
