Sometimes...

Sometimes...life can be difficult.
It's been a little that way for us lately.

Our son has Crohn's Disease.
Crohn's is nasty.
No two ways about it.  Nasty.

We are using means.  We are not flying solo.
We are praying for wisdom.
We are consulting with physicians.
We are seeking the LORD.

The Great Physician.

What a blessing it is to know that HE is in perfect
and Sovereign control.
HE does not give more than we can bear.  Ever.
With His help and grace and strength, we can face anything.

God's Grace is evident in the life of our son.
He says that he has nothing to complain about!
He continues to be thankful.

What a rebuke.
What a blessing.

Today our Pastor preached from Philippians.
How encouraging it was!

"Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord."
~ Philippians 3:1a ~

We don't rejoice in circumstances.
Sometimes circumstances are hard.

We rejoice in the Lord.
We can always do that!
Think of what HE has done for us!

"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss
for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness,
which is of the law, but that which is
through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which
is of God by faith:

That I may know Him, and the power of his resurrection,
and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect:
but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which
also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus."

~ Philippians 3:8-12 ~

How Precious HE is!

May the LORD give you the grace you need this day
to face whatever it is you must face.
HE is Faithful!  Look to HIM.

Many Blessings,
Camille

Certainly our thankfulness and attitude is so important during trials. Thank you for posting your struggles and how you're finding gratitude in the midst of it. It's so helpful to others. Praise God for your boy who continues to be thankful! (Must be the wonderful training he's had).

Wow. "We don't rejoice in circumstances. Sometimes circumstances are hard. We rejoice in the Lord. We can always do that!" Amen, sister! And that hit me right between the eyes. YES! God and his mercy is more than enough reason to rejoice - we don't need even one more reason than that.

I'm sorry that Crohn's has been so hard. But my oh my what a testimony that points straight to the Lord, that your boy doesn't complain. He obviously has a good mama and daddy as a godly example.

Your posts always encourage me, Camille. Thank you so much for sharing your focus and your faith. It helps a gal down here in the states in more ways than I could share.

Love,
Tami

Camille,

I just passed your blog address to a friend whose 7 year old son was just diagnosed with Chrohn's in the past couple of weeks. I'm sure your blogging about Chrohn's will be a great encouragement to her and her family. Thanks for sharing about it.

Camille,

You are right, life can be difficult.Though I have learned, hard times have been the biggest blessings in my life. They are the times when our awesome God uses to grow and mold me in Him, in spite of my weakness and sin.

I encourage you to continue to keep your eyes on Christ, praising Him "in the storm", and one day...you will look back at these tough times, and thank our great Saviour for His pruning you to be more like Christ through the pain, tears, and heartache. There is no better gift than this!

I am praying for you and your husband, and the the children.

Much Love!

Christine

Camille,
Oh, I so understand your struggle, though I'm sure yours is harder since you are having to watch your son go through this. I've been to such extremes with Crohn's, even to the point that they wanted me to have a colostomy. But I ended up not having to!

Please be encouraged and continue to hope, resting in the knowledge that whatever God calls your dear son to, He will provide the grace to rejoice in Him.

Praying for you and your family!

Love and hugs!
